Our Rooms & Garden
Guppies
Our guppies are children from 6 weeks to 18 months. Our facilities enable children to explore and develop. All areas are easily accessible for them to be able to get to and help promote them to begin to pull themselves up. They all have their own little baskets easy for them to access to be able to get any little comforters such as dummies or teddies. Every child has a key worker who ensures the room is adapted to meet their needs to the little babies who need a comfy tummy time to the crawlers and the new walkers. We have a black and white are to help the young babies visual stimulation, this helps develop the ability for them to able to focus their attention.
Seahorses
Our seahorse room is for children ages 18 months to 2 years. This room is perfect for new walkers, and little explorers, This room can accommodate up to 6 children with two adults and is great to begin to build their physical development. We also concentrate on their communication to learn new words. All children have a key worker and this is who your child is most bonded with them and then they will plan for your child using their likes and interests to meet their learning goals and development.
Seals
Our Seals room caters for children aged 2-3 years. This room is to help build the children's independence with support from the key worker. The key worker works and helps support parents and the child to begin toilet training. We help support children begin to understand independence by following daily routine, hygiene routines and self choice to what they would like to select to play with. All children have a key worker and this is who your child is most bonded with them and then they will plan for your child using their likes and interests to meet their learning goals and development.
Dolphin Room
Our Dolphin room is caters for children aged 3-5years and open all year from 7:30am-7:00pm and we accept 15 hours and 30 hours (a top-up fee for extra hours is available) Dolphin room is about preparing your child for school. We have a daily circle time, phonics is taught throughout the day through play, the children have access to the garden, play is child-led for children to self select what they would like to play with. All children have a key worker and this is who your child is most bonded with them and then they will plan for your child using their likes and interests to meet their learning goals and development.
Mini Penguins & Penguins
Our Mini Penguins & Penguins caters for children aged 2-5 years (term time only). This room is aimed at preparing children for school and independence. For the younger children we help support toilet training, follow hygiene routine and exploring new areas and activities. For the older children to begin to get school ready taking part in circle time and learning phonic throughout the day. All children have access to the garden and all areas are child-led they can self select what they would like to play with and use. All children have a key worker and this is who your child is most bonded with them and then they will plan for your child using their likes and interests to meet their learning goals and development.
Sharks
Our Sharks is for reception children to year 6. We offer a breakfast club, after school club and holiday club. We drop and collect children from our local schools. Breakfast club is open from 7:30 and they have a free choice of cereals then taken to school. Afterschool collect children return to Headstart have reading time and then tea and some homework time then they have free time to select what they would like to do and we have a variety of activities. Holiday club is available for a full day or half days. During holiday club the children have free choice of activities within the room and garden. We do outings with the children in the local area such as bowling, cinema, trips to the country park and many more.
Our Gardens
Our gardens are used as an outdoor classroom and have every learning opportunity they would have inside as well as outside. We have 3 different areas for the children:
1.Guppies & Seahorses,2.Seals, Mini Penguins & Penguins
3. Dolphins.
All these areas are used to help promote your child's next steps and learning goals.
